Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**ALXN1720 + recombinant human hyaluronidase PH20** is a combination therapy consisting of ALXN1720, a bispecific monoclonal antibody, and recombinant human hyaluronidase PH20 (rHuPH20). ALXN1720 is designed to inhibit the complement component C5, preventing its cleavage into C5a and C5b and thereby reducing abnormal inflammation in complement-mediated diseases. Its second specificity is for serum albumin, which extends its half-life in circulation. rHuPH20 is an enzyme that depolymerizes hyaluronan in the subcutaneous space, increasing tissue permeability and facilitating rapid and efficient subcutaneous absorption of co-administered drugs such as ALXN1720. This combination allows for improved pharmacokinetics and the possibility of home-based subcutaneous administration, enhancing patient convenience and potentially reducing healthcare system burden[2][3][5].
