ALZ-001

ALZ-001 is a small molecule drug developed as a stimulant of the nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) pathway. Nrf2 is a transcription factor that regulates the expression of antioxidant proteins and plays a key role in cellular defense against oxidative stress. By stimulating Nrf2, ALZ-001 aims to enhance the body’s antioxidant response, which may be beneficial in conditions characterized by inflammation and oxidative damage. The drug has been investigated for immune system diseases and skin/musculoskeletal disorders, including acne vulgaris, keloid formation, and psoriasis. It was initially developed by Allianz Pharmascience[3].
