AM-411 refers to two distinct drug candidates in the biomedical literature: **1. Cannabinoid Agonist (Research Chemical):** AM-411 is a potent and fairly selective cannabinoid receptor agonist from the AM cannabinoid series. It acts as a full agonist at the CB1 receptor (Ki = 6.8 nM) and as a moderately potent agonist at the CB2 receptor (Ki = 52 nM). Structurally derived from Δ8-tetrahydrocannabinol with an adamantyl group substitution at the 3-position, it produces effects similar to other cannabinoids such as analgesia, sedation, and anxiolysis[1]. **2. siRNA Nanoparticle for Rheumatoid Arthritis (Altamira Therapeutics):** Separately—and more recently—AM-411 is also used as a code name for an intravenously administered nanoparticle therapeutic developed by Altamira Therapeutics for rheumatoid arthritis. This formulation uses OligoPhore technology to deliver siRNA targeting p65/RELA—a key transcriptional regulator of NF-kB signaling—specifically to inflamed tissues in order to suppress local inflammation while minimizing systemic side effects[4][5][7]. The approach aims to reduce synthesis of p65 rather than block its protein function directly.
