AM-710

AM-710 is an investigational, ultra-long-acting small-molecule GLP-1 receptor agonist developed by Aion Medicines, a subsidiary of Exavir Therapeutics. It is designed as a prodrug of orforglipron, utilizing a proprietary half-life extension technology to enable infrequent dosing intervals of once every three to six months, or longer, via subcutaneous injection. Preclinical studies in mice and rats have demonstrated an apparent half-life of 76 to 91 days, representing a significant extension compared to oral orforglipron. The drug is currently in the IND-enabling phase of development for the treatment of obesity and type 2 diabetes, with the goal of providing a best-in-class profile for long-term weight management and glycemic control.
