Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AM201 is a bispecific antibody developed by AbClon using its proprietary AffiMab platform. It is designed to simultaneously target and neutralize two key pro-inflammatory cytokines: tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) and interleukin-6 (IL-6). The molecule is constructed as a recombinant fusion protein, where Affibody molecules are fused to a monoclonal antibody base, specifically the TNF-α inhibitor adalimumab. By dual-targeting these pathways, AM201 aims to provide enhanced therapeutic efficacy in treating autoimmune disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis compared to single-target inhibitors. Additionally, it has been explored for the management of cytokine storm conditions, including those associated with severe COVID-19.
