AM211

AM211 is a potent and selective small molecule antagonist of the prostaglandin D2 receptor type 2 (DP2), also known as CRTH2. It exhibits high affinity for human, mouse, rat, and guinea pig DP2 receptors and shows selectivity over other prostanoid receptors. AM211 inhibits PGD2-stimulated responses in relevant human cells and demonstrates efficacy in animal models of allergic inflammation such as asthma and allergic rhinitis. The drug has good oral bioavailability in preclinical species and has reached phase I clinical trials for allergic inflammatory diseases. It was developed by Amira Pharmaceuticals to evaluate the role of DP2 antagonism in T helper 2-driven allergic conditions.
