Overview

Amalaki churna is a traditional Ayurvedic oral herbal powder preparation consisting of powdered dried fruit of amla, also known as Indian gooseberry, from *Phyllanthus emblica* or *Emblica officinalis*. It is not a conventional pharmaceutical with a single defined molecular target, but a multi-constituent botanical product rich in ascorbic acid, tannins, polyphenols, and antioxidant phytochemicals. In Ayurvedic practice it is used as a rasayana for general health support and for conditions related to digestive health, immune support, cardiovascular wellness, skin and hair health, eye health, and healthy aging. It is marketed under the generic product name by multiple Ayurvedic manufacturers rather than being associated with a single sponsor, developer, or proprietary drug program.
