AMAP-102

AMAP-102 is an orally bioavailable small molecule drug developed by AnaMar AB for the treatment of musculoskeletal pain and rheumatoid arthritis. It acts as a selective antagonist of the serotonin 2B receptor and serotonin 2C receptor. The drug has demonstrated disease inhibition and tissue protection in animal models of arthritis, as well as reduction of inflammatory mediators such as IL-6 and TNF-alpha in both human and animal in vitro models. Clinical development reached Phase 2a for inflammatory pain associated with osteoarthritis, but results did not show significant efficacy over placebo. Despite this, AMAP-102 remains listed as being in active development as of early 2025[1][2][3][4][5].
