Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Amara drops (also known as Amara tincture) is a multi-herbal ethanolic solution manufactured by Weleda AG, traditionally used for digestive disorders and currently being investigated for functional dyspepsia. The preparation consists of nine plant extracts: Artemisia absinthium, Centaurium erythraea, Cichorium intybus, Gentiana lutea, Juniperus communis, Achillea millefolium, Peucedanum ostruthium, Salvia officinalis, and Taraxacum. Its primary mechanism of action involves the inhibition of M2 muscarinic receptors, which facilitates gastric fundus relaxation and improves gastric motility. It is indicated for symptoms such as bloating, nausea, loss of appetite, and heartburn.
