AMB051

AMB051 (also known as AMB-051) is a humanized monoclonal antibody developed by Ammax Bio that targets the colony-stimulating factor 1 receptor (CSF1R). CSF1R signaling is a key driver in the pathogenesis of tenosynovial giant cell tumor (TGCT), a rare, locally aggressive neoplasm of the joint synovium characterized by the overexpression of CSF1. By binding to and inhibiting CSF1R, AMB051 disrupts the recruitment and proliferation of CSF1-dependent macrophages, which constitute the bulk of the tumor mass. The drug is currently being evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials for the treatment of TGCT, aiming to provide a more targeted and potentially better-tolerated therapeutic option compared to systemic small-molecule CSF1R inhibitors.
