Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ambene Chondro is a topical chondroprotector developed and marketed by the Promomed Group for the treatment of degenerative-dystrophic diseases of the joints and spine. Formulated as a 5% gel for external application, its active ingredient is chondroitin sulfate, a high-molecular-weight polysaccharide that is a natural component of cartilage tissue. The drug works by stimulating the regeneration of articular cartilage, increasing the production of synovial fluid, and inhibiting enzymes such as hyaluronidase and elastase that contribute to cartilage degradation. Clinically, Ambene Chondro is used to alleviate joint pain, reduce crepitus (joint cracking), and improve mobility in patients suffering from conditions such as osteoarthritis and osteochondrosis.
