Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Amberen is a non-hormonal, multi-ingredient dietary supplement developed for the relief of vasomotor, psychosomatic, and psychological symptoms associated with perimenopause and menopause. Originally developed by Lunada Biomedical (which later became Biogix) and subsequently acquired by Alliance Pharmaceuticals, Amberen is formulated as a proprietary blend of succinate salts (including ammonium, calcium, and magnesium succinates), zinc difumarate, glycine, monosodium L-glutamate, and vitamin E. The supplement is proposed to support cellular energy metabolism and restore hormonal balance by acting on the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis, potentially stimulating endogenous hormone production (such as estradiol) without introducing exogenous hormones. Clinical trials have evaluated its efficacy in alleviating common menopausal symptoms like hot flashes, night sweats, sleep disturbances, and anxiety.
