Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ambromoterol is a fixed-dose combination drug consisting of ambroxol hydrochloride and clenbuterol hydrochloride, primarily used for the treatment of respiratory conditions. Ambroxol is a mucolytic agent that facilitates the clearance of thick mucus by increasing the secretion of respiratory tract fluid and stimulating surfactant production. Clenbuterol is a potent, long-acting selective beta-2 adrenergic receptor agonist that acts as a bronchodilator by relaxing airway smooth muscle. This combination is particularly effective in pediatric patients suffering from acute or chronic bronchitis, bronchial asthma, and other pulmonary diseases characterized by cough, viscous sputum, and airway obstruction. It is widely marketed in China, where it is a standard treatment for pediatric respiratory distress.
