AMD112 is a preclinical-stage hyaluronic acid (HA)-conjugated small molecule therapy being developed by Holy Stone Healthcare for the treatment of wet age-related macular degeneration (wAMD) and other neovascular retinal diseases. Developed using the proprietary HylRetinX™ platform, AMD112 is designed for non-invasive delivery across the blood-retinal barrier via oral or topical (eyedrop) administration. The drug utilizes CD44-mediated targeting through its HA conjugation to deliver a small molecule payload that modulates Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) activity. By inhibiting pathological neovascularization in the retina through a non-invasive route, AMD112 aims to provide a patient-friendly alternative to the current standard of care, which typically requires frequent intravitreal injections.
