Overview

AMDX-2011P is a small molecule ocular imaging agent developed by Amydis for the detection and quantification of amyloid beta (Aβ) deposits in the retina. It is designed as a diagnostic tool to facilitate early identification of neurodegenerative diseases, including cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA), Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). The agent works as a contrast medium for retinal imaging, enabling visualization of pathological protein aggregates such as Aβ, α-synuclein, and TDP‑43 in the retina using standard ophthalmic imaging devices. Clinical trials are ongoing to assess its safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and diagnostic efficacy in these indications. The drug is administered intravenously and aims to support earlier intervention by providing non-invasive biomarkers for neurodegenerative disorders[1][2][3][6][7].
