Overview

AMDX-9101 is a novel small-molecule fluorescent ocular tracer developed for the detection of transthyretin (TTR) amyloid in the conjunctiva. It exhibits hyper-fluorescence when incubated with TTR protein aggregates in vitro and labels TTR amyloid deposits in postmortem human conjunctiva and other ocular tissues. The fluorescent binding signal can be visualized using commercially available ophthalmic imaging equipment, offering a potential new and noninvasive diagnostic test for transthyretin amyloidosis (ATTR) to facilitate earlier diagnosis and therapeutic development.
