Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ameflu is a multi-symptom cold and flu medication developed and marketed by RV OPV Pharmaceuticals in Vietnam. It is a combination pharmaceutical product typically containing paracetamol (an analgesic and antipyretic), phenylephrine hydrochloride (a nasal decongestant), guaifenesin (an expectorant), and dextromethorphan hydrobromide (an antitussive). The drug is designed to provide comprehensive relief from symptoms associated with the common cold and influenza, including fever, minor aches and pains, nasal congestion, and cough. Various formulations exist under the Ameflu brand, such as Ameflu Night time, which includes the antihistamine chlorpheniramine maleate to aid sleep and reduce allergic symptoms, and Ameflu C, which combines paracetamol with ascorbic acid (Vitamin C).
