Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ameloderm is an intradermal recombinant human amelogenin gel developed by Prudentix for the improvement of postoperative scar formation. The active ingredient, recombinant human amelogenin (rAmelX), is an extracellular matrix protein that acts as a physical scaffold and a signaling molecule. It recruits mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) and pericytes to the wound site, promoting a regenerative healing process and shifting the tissue response away from fibrotic scar formation. Formulated as a thermo-sensitive gel, Ameloderm remains liquid at lower temperatures and transitions into a viscous gel at body temperature, allowing for precise intradermal injection during routine skin lesion excision surgery.
