Overview

Amemutab (SL-001) is a recombinant bispecific monoclonal antibody developed by Shanghai Sailon Biotechnology for the treatment of EpCAM-positive solid tumors, including colorectal cancer. It is designed as a T-cell engager that simultaneously binds to the Epithelial Cell Adhesion Molecule (EpCAM) on the surface of tumor cells and the CD3 epsilon subunit of the T-cell receptor complex on cytotoxic T-lymphocytes. This dual binding facilitates the recruitment and activation of T-cells directly at the tumor site, leading to the formation of immunological synapses and the subsequent lysis of cancer cells through the release of perforins and granzymes. Amemutab is currently being evaluated in early-phase clinical trials to assess its safety, pharmacokinetics, and preliminary anti-tumor activity in patients with advanced malignancies.
