Overview

AmEno is a moonlighting protein, specifically enolase AmEno15, identified from the *Anaplasma marginale* strain MEX-15-099-01. It is being investigated for its potential as an immunogen in the design of vaccines against bovine Anaplasmosis. Synthetic peptides derived from AmEno have demonstrated antigenicity in ELISA assays, indicating its potential for stimulating an immune response. AmEno plays a significant role in the adhesion and invasion processes of *Anaplasma marginale* to host tissues, including erythrocytes and tick gut cells.
