AMFA glycovectors are mannose 6-phosphonate derivatives (M6Pn) designed as unique glycovector molecules to enhance the cellular internalization of proteins and therapeutic agents. These synthetic glycoconjugates mimic natural mannose-6-phosphate but with increased stability and affinity for the cation-independent mannose-6-phosphate receptor (CI-MPR), facilitating targeted delivery into cells. They have been investigated as drug delivery enhancers, particularly in the context of enzyme replacement therapies such as for Pompe disease, where they improve uptake of therapeutic enzymes by target tissues[1][3]. The technology is being developed to optimize antibody-based immunotherapies and other biologics by improving their pharmacokinetics and tissue targeting.
