Overview

AMFX-200 is a first-in-class regenerative therapy being developed for **acute spinal cord injury**. It is a **peptide amphiphile scaffold** that acts as an agonist for both the **fibroblast growth factor receptor (FGFR/FGFR1)** and **integrin β1 (ITGB1/CD29)**. The drug leverages Amphix Bio's proprietary Supramolecular Therapeutic Peptides (STPs) platform, which combines physical nanofiber scaffolds with bioactive properties to stimulate cell receptors and promote tissue regeneration. In preclinical animal models, a single injection into the spinal cord has demonstrated restoration of motor function, regrowth of motor neuron axons past the injury site, reconnection of neural circuits, reversal of paralysis, reduction of neuropathic pain, inflammation, and prevention of glial scar formation[1][2][4][5][7][8][9][12][13]. The technology was originally developed at Northwestern University by Professor Samuel Stupp's research group, and represents an entirely new approach to neural regeneration[2][3][4][11][12].
