Overview

AMG 114 is a novel, hyperglycosylated erythropoiesis-stimulating agent developed for the treatment of anemia associated with chemotherapy in patients with non-myeloid malignancies. It was designed to have increased potency and a longer half-life compared to existing agents such as darbepoetin alfa and epoetin alfa. In clinical studies, AMG 114 demonstrated dose-proportional pharmacokinetics and was generally well tolerated, but development was halted due to modest efficacy[1][2]. The mechanism of action is as an agonist of the erythropoietin receptor. It was developed by Amgen.
