AMG 397 + dexamethasone

AMG 397 + dexamethasone is an **investigational combination therapy** consisting of AMG 397, an oral, potent, and selective small molecule inhibitor of the anti-apoptotic protein myeloid cell leukemia sequence 1 (MCL1), and dexamethasone, a synthetic glucocorticoid used as a standard agent in hematologic malignancy regimens. AMG 397 works by inhibiting the protein-protein interactions between MCL1 and pro-apoptotic members of the BCL-2 family, promoting apoptosis (cell death) in malignant cells. Dexamethasone acts as an anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive agent and is often used to enhance the anti-tumor activity of other drugs.
