AMG9810

AMG9810 is a potent and selective small molecule antagonist of the **transient receptor potential vanilloid 1 (TRPV1)** receptor, also known as the vanilloid receptor 1. Developed by **Amgen**, it acts as a competitive inhibitor that blocks TRPV1 activation by various stimuli, including capsaicin, heat, protons, and endogenous ligands. While it has been extensively used as a pharmacological research tool to investigate the role of TRPV1 in **inflammatory and neuropathic pain**, it has not transitioned into clinical development for medical use. In preclinical studies, AMG9810 demonstrated significant antihyperalgesic and analgesic properties, effectively blocking all known modes of TRPV1 activation.
