Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination of three antibiotics—amikacin, linezolid, and vancomycin—used together for the treatment of severe or multidrug-resistant bacterial infections. Each component has a distinct mechanism of action:
The combination may be considered for difficult-to-treat infections caused by resistant Gram-positive organisms (such as MRSA or VRE) or mixed infections where broad-spectrum coverage is needed. Synergistic effects have been observed between some pairs (e.g., amikacin with vancomycin, linezolid with aminoglycosides), but antagonism has also been reported between vancomycin and linezolid in certain strains. The use of all three drugs together would be reserved for highly resistant cases under specialist supervision.
