Amiksin

Amiksin is an orally administered antiviral and immunomodulatory small molecule drug developed and marketed by OTCPharm in Russia. Its active ingredient is tilorone dihydrochloride, which functions as a low-molecular-weight synthetic interferon inducer. The drug stimulates the endogenous production of alpha, beta, and gamma interferons in various cell types, including intestinal epithelial cells, hepatocytes, T-lymphocytes, and neutrophils. Its antiviral mechanism of action involves the inhibition of virus-specific protein translation in infected cells, which effectively suppresses viral replication. Amiksin is approved for the treatment and prevention of several viral conditions, including influenza, acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI), viral hepatitis A, B, and C, herpes simplex, and cytomegalovirus infections. Additionally, it is used as part of complex therapy for infectious-allergic and viral encephalomyelitis, as well as urogenital and respiratory chlamydia.
