Overview

Amimestrocel (hUC-MSC PLEB001) is a human umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cell (hUC-MSC) therapy developed by Platinum Excellence Biotechnology (Beijing) Co., Ltd. It is the first mesenchymal stem cell product approved by the Chinese National Medical Products Administration (NMPA), receiving approval in January 2025. The therapy is indicated for the treatment of steroid-refractory acute graft-versus-host disease (SR-aGVHD), particularly cases with gastrointestinal involvement (SR-GI-aGVHD), following allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. Mesenchymal stem cells exert therapeutic effects through immunomodulation, reducing inflammation, and promoting tissue repair in the affected organs.
