Overview

Aminase is a patented oral nutraceutical enzyme product developed by Mylin Holdings (Mylin Biotech India). It consists of a blend of proteolytic enzymes derived from microbial sources, specifically formulated to address Protein-Energy Wasting (PEW) and Protein-Energy Malnutrition (PEM) in patients with chronic conditions such as Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), liver cirrhosis, cancer cachexia, COPD, and tuberculosis. Aminase works by increasing systemic amino acid levels and supporting albumin turnover, which facilitates the buildup of skeletal muscle mass. Furthermore, it serves as a potential therapy for anorexia by modulating the balance between the hormones ghrelin and leptin. Classified as Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS), Aminase is commercially available in India and has demonstrated long-term safety in clinical settings.
