Amine fluoride toothpaste is a dental care product formulated with amine fluorides—most notably olaflur (also known as amine fluoride 297)—as the active ingredient. Amine fluorides are organic compounds that combine an alkyl ammonium cation with a fluoride counterion. Their surfactant properties allow them to form a film on tooth surfaces, facilitating rapid and effective incorporation of fluoride into enamel. This process converts the outer layer of enamel from hydroxylapatite to more acid-resistant fluorapatite, thereby strengthening teeth and providing protection against dental caries (tooth decay)[1][2][6]. Amine fluoride also helps reduce tooth sensitivity by creating a protective barrier over exposed dentin[4]. The primary indication for these toothpastes is prevention of dental caries and management of sensitive teeth.
