Aminic

Aminic is a specialized amino acid preparation developed by **EA Pharma** (a joint venture between **Eisai** and **Ajinomoto**) primarily used for the treatment of hepatic encephalopathy and nutritional support in patients with chronic liver disease. The formulation is characterized by a high concentration of branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs)—specifically L-leucine, L-isoleucine, and L-valine—and a low concentration of aromatic amino acids (AAAs) and methionine. This specific composition is designed to correct the Fischer ratio (the molar ratio of BCAAs to AAAs), which is typically decreased in patients with liver failure. By increasing plasma BCAA levels, Aminic reduces the competitive transport of AAAs across the blood-brain barrier via the large neutral amino acid transporter 1 (LAT1), thereby inhibiting the synthesis of "false neurotransmitters" and improving neurological symptoms. While the product is most commonly known as an intravenous infusion (Aminic Injection), it is a core component of EA Pharma's hepatology and metabolic disease portfolio.
