Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Amino L40 is a proprietary, leucine-rich blend of nine essential amino acids (EAAs) developed by Ajinomoto. It contains 40% L-leucine and 60% of the remaining eight essential amino acids (L-lysine acetate, L-valine, L-isoleucine, L-threonine, L-phenylalanine, L-methionine, L-histidine, and L-tryptophan) in a scientifically optimized ratio. Amino L40 is designed to stimulate muscle protein synthesis (MPS) and prevent muscle loss (sarcopenia) and physical frailty, particularly in older adults, patients with advanced chronic liver disease, or individuals undergoing rehabilitation. It acts primarily by activating the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1) signaling pathway, which triggers translation initiation and muscle protein anabolism.
