Overview

Aminoginkgolide B methanesulfonate (KFP-H008) is a semi-synthetic small molecule derivative of ginkgolide B, a terpene lactone isolated from the *Ginkgo biloba* tree. Developed by Nanjing Ke Feiping Shenghui Pharmaceutical, the compound is specifically engineered as a potent and selective antagonist of the platelet-activating factor (PAF) receptor. PAF is a critical phospholipid mediator involved in platelet aggregation, inflammatory cascades, and the pathophysiology of neuronal injury following cerebral ischemia. By blocking the PAF receptor, aminoginkgolide B methanesulfonate aims to inhibit thrombus formation, reduce neuroinflammation, and provide neuroprotective effects during the acute phase of ischemic stroke. The drug is typically administered via intravenous injection and has progressed to Phase III clinical trials in China for the treatment of acute ischemic cerebrovascular disease.
