Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination medication containing four active ingredients that work together to treat respiratory conditions. Aminophylline is a bronchodilator that relaxes smooth muscles in the airways, making breathing easier. It contains theophylline which inhibits phosphodiesterase enzymes and may have anti-inflammatory effects at lower doses. Fenoterol is a beta-2 adrenergic agonist that causes bronchodilation by relaxing bronchial smooth muscle. Hydrocortisone and prednisone are corticosteroids with anti-inflammatory properties that help reduce inflammation in the airways. This combination would likely be used for the treatment of severe asthma, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, or COPD exacerbations.
