Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Aminosilverlactone B mesylate is a small molecule derivative of ginkgolide B, a natural terpene lactone found in *Ginkgo biloba*. Developed by Jiangsu Ke Feiping Pharmaceutical, the drug is designed as a potent platelet-activating factor (PAF) receptor antagonist for the treatment of acute ischemic stroke. By blocking the PAF receptor, it inhibits PAF-induced platelet aggregation, leukocyte activation, and inflammatory responses, which are key contributors to neuronal damage following an ischemic event. The drug is formulated as an injection for intravenous administration and has been evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials for safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics.
