Overview

Amisodin (PRG-A01) is an orally bioavailable small molecule therapeutic developed by PRG Science & Technology for the treatment of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). The compound is designed to target and stabilize superoxide dismutase 1 (SOD1), a protein whose mutation and subsequent misfolding or aggregation are key drivers of motor neuron degeneration in both familial and sporadic forms of ALS. By maintaining SOD1 in its functional dimeric state, Amisodin aims to prevent the formation of toxic protein aggregates and preserve neuronal function. The drug is currently undergoing Phase 1 clinical evaluation to assess its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics in healthy adult subjects.
