Overview
AdGaba AT is an oral fixed-dose combination tablet containing the tricyclic antidepressant amitriptyline and the anticonvulsant gabapentin. Developed and marketed by Bion Therapeutics, it is primarily indicated for the management of chronic neuropathic pain, including diabetic neuropathy, postherpetic neuralgia, and fibromyalgia. Gabapentin acts as an alpha-2-delta ligand, binding to the auxiliary subunits of voltage-gated calcium channels to reduce calcium influx and inhibit the release of excitatory neurotransmitters. Amitriptyline inhibits the reuptake of serotonin and norepinephrine, thereby enhancing descending inhibitory pain pathways in the central nervous system. Together, these two active ingredients provide synergistic, dual-action relief for persistent nerve-related discomfort.
