This is a combination drug consisting of three active pharmaceutical ingredients: - **Amitriptyline** is a tricyclic antidepressant primarily used to treat major depressive disorder and certain types of chronic pain. It works mainly by inhibiting the reuptake of norepinephrine and serotonin, increasing their levels in the central nervous system. - **Methylprednisolone** is a synthetic glucocorticoid corticosteroid with potent anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive properties. It acts by modulating gene expression to suppress pro-inflammatory cytokines, reduce immune cell activity, and decrease inflammation. Methylprednisolone is widely used for conditions such as arthritis, severe allergies, asthma, autoimmune diseases, and some cancers[1][2][3][4][5]. - **Thiethylperazine** is an antiemetic from the phenothiazine class. It acts as an antagonist at dopamine (D1, D2, D4), serotonin (5-HT2A/2C), muscarinic acetylcholine (M1–M5), alpha-1 adrenergic, and histamine H1 receptors[6][8]. Its primary clinical use is for relief of nausea and vomiting[10], but it also has antipsychotic activity due to its receptor profile. This combination would theoretically provide antidepressant effects (amitriptyline), anti-inflammatory/immunosuppressive effects (methylprednisolone), and antiemetic/antipsychotic effects (thiethylperazine). There are no known approved fixed-dose combinations containing all three agents; this appears to be a non-standard or compounded regimen.
