Overview

Amivantamab is a fully human bispecific monoclonal antibody used to treat adults with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), particularly those whose tumors have epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) exon 20 insertion mutations. It is administered intravenously and works by simultaneously targeting the extracellular domains of both EGFR and MET receptors, blocking their signaling pathways, promoting receptor degradation, and engaging immune effector functions such as antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity. This dual targeting helps overcome resistance mechanisms in NSCLC that arise from therapies directed at either EGFR or MET alone. Amivantamab was developed by Janssen (a Johnson & Johnson company) and is marketed under the brand name Rybrevant[1][3][5][6][7].
