Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Amivantamab + docetaxel is an investigational combination therapy consisting of **amivantamab**, a fully human bispecific monoclonal antibody targeting **epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR)** and **mesenchymal-epithelial transition (MET) receptor**, and **docetaxel**, a microtubule inhibitor chemotherapeutic. Amivantamab binds to both EGFR and MET, blocking their activation by natural ligands and inhibiting downstream signaling pathways involved in tumor cell proliferation and survival. Docetaxel disrupts microtubule function, inhibiting cell division and inducing apoptosis. This combination is being explored primarily in **metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC)**, particularly in populations that have progressed following platinum-based chemotherapy and immunotherapy. Clinical trials are in phase 1/2 to determine recommended dosing and efficacy as combination therapy in NSCLC without oncogenic driver mutations, as well as to evaluate safety and antitumor effects[1][2][4].
