Overview

AML-VAC multi-peptide vaccine + XS15 is an investigational therapeutic cancer vaccine combination developed by the University Hospital of Tübingen. It is designed for patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) who have achieved complete remission after first-line therapy. The vaccine consists of a cocktail of multiple HLA-restricted peptides derived from leukemia-associated antigens (LAAs) and is adjuvanted with XS15, a novel water-soluble Toll-like receptor 1/2 (TLR1/2) ligand. XS15 (Pam3Cys-GDPKHPKSF) acts as a potent immunostimulant that promotes the maturation of antigen-presenting cells and induces a strong Th1-polarized T-cell response. The primary goal of this treatment is to eliminate minimal residual disease (MRD) and prevent disease relapse by stimulating the patient's immune system to recognize and destroy remaining leukemic cells.
