amlodipine + terazosin

Amlodipine + terazosin is a combination of two small molecule antihypertensive agents. Amlodipine is a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker that inhibits L-type calcium channels in vascular smooth muscle, leading to vasodilation and reduced blood pressure. Terazosin is an alpha-1 adrenergic receptor antagonist that relaxes smooth muscle in the vasculature and prostate, reducing blood pressure and improving urinary flow in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). The combination has been studied for the management of coexisting hypertension and lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS), particularly in elderly men. Clinical studies suggest this combination can safely and effectively control both conditions, especially when overactive bladder symptoms are present[1][2][3].
