Amlodis is an oral small molecule medication developed and manufactured by Teriak, a Tunisian pharmaceutical company. It is a generic formulation of amlodipine, a dihydropyridine-class L-type calcium channel blocker. The drug works by inhibiting the influx of calcium ions into vascular smooth muscle and cardiac muscle cells, which leads to peripheral vasodilation and a reduction in coronary vascular resistance. This mechanism effectively lowers blood pressure and improves myocardial oxygen delivery. Amlodis is approved for the treatment of hypertension, chronic stable angina, and vasospastic (Prinzmetal's) angina.
