Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AMLOGOOD AT is a fixed-dose combination therapy developed by GoodMed Healthcare, containing the calcium channel blocker amlodipine and the HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor atorvastatin. Amlodipine is an L-type calcium channel blocker that treats hypertension by inhibiting the influx of calcium ions into vascular smooth muscle and cardiac muscle, leading to vasodilation and reduced peripheral resistance. Atorvastatin is a statin that treats dyslipidemia by inhibiting HMG-CoA reductase, the rate-limiting enzyme in hepatic cholesterol synthesis, thereby lowering LDL cholesterol levels. This oral tablet is approved for the management of both hypertension and dyslipidemia in patients who require concurrent treatment for both conditions.
