Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AmnioClear is a human amniotic membrane allograft developed by Liventa Bioscience (formerly AFCell Medical) for the treatment of chronic wounds, specifically diabetic foot ulcers. Regulated as a human cell, tissue, and cellular and tissue-based product (HCT/P) under Section 361 of the Public Health Service Act, it consists of processed amniotic tissue that retains essential biological components such as extracellular matrix proteins, growth factors, and cytokines. These components provide a natural scaffold for cellular migration and proliferation while modulating inflammation to accelerate the healing of hard-to-treat wounds. Clinical evaluation has focused on its ability to accelerate healing time in chronic diabetic foot ulcers compared to standard moist wound dressings.
