AmnioExcel

AmnioExcel is a human amniotic membrane allograft (HAMA) derived from the innermost layer of the human placenta. It is processed to maintain the native extracellular matrix (ECM) and endogenous biological factors, including growth factors and cytokines, which are essential for tissue repair and regeneration. AmnioExcel functions as a biological scaffold that facilitates cellular recruitment, migration, and proliferation while modulating inflammation in hard-to-heal wounds. Originally developed by Advanced BioHealing and later acquired by Shire, the product is currently part of the Integra LifeSciences portfolio. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of chronic wounds such as diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs) and venous leg ulcers (VLUs), as well as burns.
