Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AmnioFix is a proprietary tissue allograft composed of micronized dehydrated Human Amnion Chorion Membrane (mdHACM), developed by MiMedx Group. Derived from donated human placentas, the product is processed using the Purion® process to preserve the natural biological properties of the tissue, including a complex array of cytokines, growth factors, and interleukins. It is designed to act as a biologic scaffold and protective barrier to promote healing and reduce inflammation in musculoskeletal and surgical applications. Clinical development has focused on chronic inflammatory conditions such as plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendonitis, and knee osteoarthritis, as well as surgical uses in nerve protection and anastomotic leak prevention. The product is available both as a surgical sheet and as an injectable formulation.
