Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AmnioFix Sports Med is a human amniotic membrane allograft biologic developed by MiMedx Group, Inc. It is composed of dehydrated human amnion/chorion membrane (dHACM) derived from placental tissue donated by healthy mothers undergoing cesarean sections. The product is processed using the proprietary PURION Process, which involves cleansing, dehydration, and electron-beam sterilization to preserve the natural collagen matrix and bioactive properties while ensuring safety. AmnioFix Sports Med contains over 200 growth factors, specialized cytokines, and enzyme inhibitors that work synergistically to modulate inflammation, reduce scar tissue formation, and enhance the healing of damaged soft tissues. It is primarily administered via injection for various musculoskeletal and sports-related conditions, including plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendinitis.
