Amnion mesenchymal cells are an allogeneic **cell therapy** composed of mesenchymal stem cells isolated from human amnion tissue. The product described in clinical development is **AM01**, developed by **CTEX Corporation**, and is reported as the first manufactured clinical trial product of amnion-derived mesenchymal stem cells. These cells are intended for immune- and inflammation-related diseases and exert therapeutic activity through **immunomodulation**, including secretion of anti-inflammatory mediators such as **interleukin-10** and **prostaglandin E2**, which suppress pathogenic immune responses and dampen inflammatory cytokine networks. The program has been studied in physician-led clinical trials for **acute graft-versus-host disease** and **Crohn's disease**. The cells are characterized by non-invasive sourcing from placental amnion tissue, high proliferative capacity, and expression of canonical mesenchymal markers including **CD105**, **CD73**, and **CD90**.
