Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Amobang is a brand name for amoxicillin capsules, a generic aminopenicillin antibiotic developed and manufactured by Ruiyang Pharmaceutical. Amoxicillin is a semi-synthetic, broad-spectrum β-lactam antibiotic that exerts its bactericidal activity by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial cell walls. It specifically binds to and inactivates penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), which are enzymes located on the inner membrane of the bacterial cell wall responsible for the final stages of peptidoglycan cross-linking. This disruption leads to the weakening of the cell wall and subsequent osmotic lysis and death of the bacteria. Amobang is indicated for the treatment of various infections caused by susceptible Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms, including those affecting the respiratory tract, urinary tract, and skin. The product has been evaluated in bioequivalence studies, such as CTR20171004, to demonstrate its pharmacokinetic comparability to the reference listed drug, Amoxil.
